Betty Kettman attended college in her home state of Iowa before moving to Missouri. While living there, she attended the University of Missouri Extension. Kettman and her family moved to Oklahoma in 1982. She has taken courses at the University of Oklahoma, Oklahoma City Community College and Oklahoma City University. Kettman came to work at OU in 1984 and throughout her career at the university has worked with the Center for Business & Economic Development (CBED), and Engineering & Geosciences. She has served in every capacity within the department and currently serves as assistant director for the Center for Business & Economic Development and program director for the OU Economic Development Institutue (OU/EDI) program. The Center for Business & Economic Development is OU's primary provider of executive business and economic development training. The center provides tailored training programs to meet the needs of management professionals and professional associations. Laurence Reid Gas Compressor Conference and Outreach’s Blowout Prevention School are also programs within the center and provide training for professionals in the oil and gas field. When she has free time, she enjoys spending it with her two granddaughters.
